Default WRX vs. ACURA TL 3.2

the other day i was cruising over to the mall to get some new magazines when this guy pulls up next to me at a light. i look over at the guy and his wife/girlfriend and just nod. when the light turns green this guy just nails it,i didn't expect it so i was late to start. i revved to five grand and dumped it , immediately catching him and passing. as i shifted second he caught up to me even, but i pulled away. as i shifted third i look over to see him right at my rear quarter panel. we stayed in it until i shifted fourth and had to brake hard to slow down for the next light. i know that these cars are supposed to have 260hp,i'm not sure of my hp since i added my hks exhaust and did the silencer mod, but i think i gave him a good run. just the fact that i held him off was a victory. i don't know how a stock wrx would have done but it was a real close race, just the way i like them.blowing someones doors off isn't that much fun to me, working hard and showing your driving abilities to beat someone in a close fender to fender race is what i love. if you want to slam me for street racing , don't bother , my middle finger is all you'll see. i'm a street racer for life.

i think "street racing" is a little different than "street light racing"... cause i know we all do the latter at one point or another... like when the guy in the large Dodge 2500 thinks he's all bada$$ and tries to beat the little 2.5L 4 banger, only to be left in the dust... not that i'd know about that though....

mainly i like the looks on their faces as the 4EAT does it's work... just put the Brullen exhaust on my car and i'm really in trouble...

Default How did you WIN???

WRX vs. Acura 3.2 TL or Type-S

TL 225 @ 5600 rpm
Type-S 260 @ 6100 rpm
WRX 227 @ 6000 rpm

TL 216 lbs.-ft. @ 4700 rpm
Type-S 232 lbs.-ft. @ 3500 rpm
WRX 217 lbs.-ft. @ 4000 rpm

TL 3492 lbs.
Type-S 3558 lbs.
WRX 3085 lbs.

NOTE: Average Male 180 lbs. and Female 120 lbs.

TL 3792 lbs.
Type-S 3858 lbs.
WRX 3265 lbs.

Horsepower-To-Weight Ratio

WRX 14.383
vs.
TL 16.853

WRX 14.383
vs.
Type-S 14.838

Torque-To-Weight Ratio

WRX 15.046
vs.
TL 17.555

WRX 15.046
vs.
Type-S 16.629

So from these number it is positive that you raced a Type-S...Because of you Torque-to-Weight Ratio you easily caught up to him...And from your Horsepower-To-Weight Ratio you guys were pretty much even!!!

A regular TL had no chance what so ever...smoke him/her off the line and gap him/her down the straight away!

As far as a Type-S, if you guys were lined up, you would have him right from the start but can't pull away from him!

If he didn't have his girlfriend/wife:

HP-to-WT Ratio

WRX 14.383
vs.
Type-S 14.376

TQ-to-WT Ratio

WRX 15.046
vs.
Type-S 16.112

You would still win...he will peel out of the line and you won't! Instead of being at you rear quarter panel, he will be a bit closer maybe!

Who knows I am just CRAZY and had nothing else to do!!!

couldn't tell you if it was a type-s , i never got to see his back bumper . he only got a good view of mine,no doubt with my chrome WRX emblem reflecting in his headlights. street light racing is where street racing got it's start, why you think the staging tree at the drags looks like one.

I work at Acura, and Im not surprised that you beat the TL. I drive them all the T ime and they may have alot of power but are not made for outright accelaration like the wrx. Ive noticed that the first gear is preety tall which is probably why he caught up to you when you snagged second gear.
