Question Electrical puzzle on 2.5GT BD

I've got a weird electrical problem and I need a hint!

Here's the situation:

Last day I drive my car, I realized my battery as been drained by something while i'am driving... The last time I drove it, the CEL come on and all accessorie doesnt work (not enought power)... Another weird problem was my RPM (tach) was not functionning while i'am driving but when I put the E-brake it came back alive... When I came back home, I take a voltmeter and saw my battery at only 7V...

In my mind, the problem was my alarm (Compustar as2000) because of the e-brake probleme... I start looking under the dash and saw the fuse on the wire of the "power light input" of my compustar (connected to the "ON" position wire of the key), blow and melt enought to continue providing power to the compustar... In my mind that was the problem and the compustar brain unit maybe dead... I purchase a new Compustar (CM3000) and install-it.

When everything was install and my battery charged, my alarm seem to be working properly but when I put the key at "ON", both engine FAN start and stop continuly with a clicking sound under the dash (maybe relay) and the flashing CEL appear... When I start my car (yes he can start!) everything seem to be fine exept the voltage are at 12V instead of 14V...

I try remove all power on my compustar to disable it and it doesnt change anyway...

I dont know if the problem come from the short itself, something else that as causing the short, my installation, etc... Also, every fuse are OK, and the Alternator have only about 3 months.

Anyone as a clue?

I know the Alt has about 3 months on it, but did you check it out to make sure it didn't go bad already? Maybe defective?

I am not sure, just giving some troubleshooting ideas

I have this same problem but not with my alarm or my compusar (watever that is) but yea same problem , also my taillights don't work and the fan relay is the one thats clicking and my taillights dont work..... also i went outside today to go to work and my car wouldnt crank, I tried jumping the starter with a screwdriver and it cranked so i knew it wasnt that checkwed the fuses all good.... so i went under dash to see what was clicking and it was them relays on top of the fuse panel.... soooooo i checked power to ignition had it and then pulled the damn relays out for a couple seconds and put them in.... annnnnnnnnnnnd it workd buuuuuuuuuuut i have a flashing CEL and my taillights stiiillll dont work buuuuut they were not working for about 2 weeks now and havent had one free second to eff with it ...

And because I don't really care about it, here's your PM for everyone to see, plus my response:

Im going to try and switch my fuse box with a buddies tomorrow to see if it helps my tail light problem and if itsa no go then im going to get the plugs on fuse box from junk yard and try changing them

Nice edits. Yeah, I'm cool. :P

Glad to hear you got your stuff sorted out. If your brake lights aren't lighting up, check the bulb bases for corrosion.
