Default EJ22T opened... need parts

I've opened up my engine...
The crank has about 1/8" front to rear movement... BAD I assume...
One pink, three brown fuel injectors... Also Bad I assume...
Darn near all of the little fuel, water, oil rubber hoses are 180,000 miles old...
Flywheel looks like an old tree stump... (tons of cracks starting)
Some bad connectors to fuel injectors on engine wire harness.

I'm going with an increase to 8 psi max boost...
I've found a great seal, gasket and bearing kit by RPM....

Any help with the following is greatly appreciated!!!!

1. I was wondering where I could pick up a complete hose kit, Surely re-man/ auto shops don't buy them one piece at a time...
2. Who has decent flywheels, I'd prefer lightweight...
3. Is there a good cam upgrade?
4. A fuel injector upgrade...?
5. Engine wire harness?

Thanks guys/gals!!!

Was this originally a turbo car, or is this an n/a that someone strapped all the turbo goodies to? A stock EJ22T should run about 8 PSI (mine is ~9-9.5 w/ exhaust).

1) I don't rightly know. I haven't had to tear mine down yet.

2) For flywheels, I don't know, as mine is a 4EAT

3) I believe Cobb Cams offers a good regrind of the factory cams for a very reasonable price.

4) As far as the injectors, I believe the pink one is like what should be in there. As far as upgrades, you will have far more choices if you change the fuel rails to those from a '92-'94 n/a EJ22. They take a slightly different shape injector, which happend to be the same as what the new STIs take (or so I have heard). Also, there are quite a few NISMO injectors that work there as well. I believe the ones intended for an SR20DET, but don't quote me on that.

5) For a wire harness, you could probably find someone tearing one down that would be willing to sell off the harness.

That's just what I can think of off the top of my head. For all thing involving the 1G Legacies, come check out bbs.legacycentral.org. Lots of great people on there. For the harness, try contacting BlackBart (I believe that's his SN on here as well as lcbbs). He's always tearing down cars and has a fair amount of parts available at any given time.

1) 1stsubaruparts or one of the online shops may be able to sell you a complete kit
2) a WRX flywheel/clutch/pressure plate will work. Talk to Richard Buckner at Royal Moore Subaru about this if you want advice
3) Delta will do cam regrinds, but because the EJ22T heads are arguably the worst flowing from any EJ-series, don't bother.
4) If you do larger injectors, you'll need something to manage the fuel-air mixture with
5) See IronMonkey's answer

Definitely head over to the LCBBS for more 1G info.

By the way the stock fuel injectors are somewhere around 360cc and from what I have see can be modded just like the WRX to flow almost double their original flow rate without getting sloppy. Either that or you could look into NISMO sidefeeds. The STI's injectors are side feed as well and should work.

Ive heard really good reports from Suby owners using the Greddy Emanage Ultimate Fuel/Ignition controller. Lots of other extra features as well.

Iron Monkey,
The car is all original as a EJ22t (Legacy SS).
What kind of boost can the engine take with a WRX TMIC installed? I bought the whole setup minus BOV from a friend.

DLC,
I've looked into the head swap (EJ20) thing and it isn't too impossible to do, but is quite pricey... Is there anything I can do to improve my current heads, or are they just a poor design...?

I'll look into the Leg. BBS... THANKS!

I remember reading that fitting the WRX topmount involved a hammer and a few good dents in the firewall. Ive also read that trimming a few cm's off the ICs neck will allow it to work. Ive never tried so I really can't say.

Ive read Xephyrs reports of using the stock heads/valvetrain compared to a fully worked set of 2.5 DOHC heads and really the biggest difference was where the power is. He said down low and in midrange the 2.2t heads brought tons of torque on quick but tapered off as you got higher in the revs. The 2.5 heads didn't have as much down low but punched you in the gut up high.

Seems like a good port and polish job as well as a valvetrain upgrade would be slightly more cost effective then trying to buy a set of 2.0/2.5 heads swapping wiring/sensors/hastle. Not sure but you may be able to use stiffer springs and such from another subaru model more commonly available. I was told I could use WRX springs in my DOHC 2.5 heads. How true that is, youve got me.

I've a second intercooler, JUST incase the trimming doesn't go well. I dropped the heads off on friday, they were in great shape, but I'm having a few things done... AND he said they would be ready TUESDAY!

Things he's doing:

$40.00 for cleaning both heads
$76.00 pressure test both heads
$150.00 for performance 3 angle valve job
$45.00 hour shop rate...

I'll let you guys know how it goes...
http://maconprecision.com/
The only shame is since it's his OWN pocket that paid for the machines, he didn't purchase a crank shaft grinder and doesn't line bore a block... BUT he can bore the cyls. pretty inexpensively.
