Default Hood Conv. question

I'm looking for the scoop assembly for a Baja Turbo or B4 Legacy hood. Where is a good place (besides Dealer) for this. The Dealer wants $442.00 for the assembly and thats just retarded. The hood is only $340

someone posts a link to an east coast junkyard every time I ask about cheap parts. The guy was nice on the phone and very helpful (even though they didn't have my tail light in stock at the time), and I would assume they would have these parts...

no. I could do a thread search, but i'm lazy.

I know, search using my screen name and the keyword tail light. That's what I was asking about last time I was giving the number...

https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html

The hood is only 246.80 from Jamie, you'll need the scoop parts and shipping might be a bitch, but chances are it'll be cheaper than the dealer.

Does anyone know the "proper" subaru name for the scoop parts? I found everything else from the www.subarugenuineparts.com but not the scoop assembly.

Let me reference back...

This is from the above link

"57220AE01A Hood Compl F $339.95
90821AE020NN Grille F Hood $106.53 "

Does the $339.95 include the scoop or is it just the hood? The previous thread has the same question at the bottom in different terms.

Isn't the scoop molded into the hood? I'm under the impression that the other part # is the plastic stuff that attaches inside the scoop or under the hood.

It'd be nice if omahasubaru could chime in since he's actually done the swap.

I just wish the legacy hoods had the same opening as the imprezas, so we wouldn't have so many issues...

The actual scoop is seperate, you need to get atleast those two parts (hood and scoop insert). The hood goes for $339 at my local dealership, i couldn't get a price on the scoop insert as the morons could not find the PN.

Well i got a parts manager to see if he could get this hood from somewhere in the US (im in Canada and the baja didnt come turbo'd over here) and the two part numbers were correct....Its just that he said there was a third part i needed to order. Does anyone know if theres any truth to this??

Thanks to everyone who had a part in gathering this info!!!! Only problem now, is its going to run me over 700.00CAN!!! Debating whether or not its worth it......high price to pay for a scoop.....but it looks SEEXXXYYY!!!

haha....naw not the lining.
Theres actually three pieces in addition to the hood. The cosmetic dressing on top (part number 90821....as stated above) , and two pieces on the bottom....im guessing some sort of water drain??? The part numbers are 90817 and 90817C.
I can get the hood for 275CAN (REALLY GOOD PRICE)
But the other three pieces are 165, 195 and 150......
Is ANYONE aware of these??
