Default Brake recommendations revisited

So I was trying to avoid spending any more money on the Leg but my EBC Greenstuffs are making my ears bleed in stop-and-go traffic so they need to go. My rotors(OE) feel fine(I haven't looked at them up close lately, but there is no vibration or anything). I don't need anything too aggresive and am more concerned about them being quiet and relatively dust free. So what's everyone using? Thoughts on performance and price? Maybe if this thread gets a lot of suggestions we can get it added to the FAQ sticky. I know there are already some threads on this topic but we could use a more up-to-date one. Thanks in advance.

Have you considered going back to OEM?

I recently put Hawk HPS pads on my '03 WRX more out of cost than the need to upgrade performance. They've done fine on all accounts so far.

Yeah, I am still considering going back to OEM. If I can find a reasonably priced alternative then I'd go that route.

Do you track your car? If not, just go with OEM. Checking on tirerack.com, I see that they have a couple cheaper alternatives. Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads are supposedly ok (I bought them for my wife's Saab 9-5 and like them for what they are - a cheap alternative to OEM pads).

No, the car sees no track time, and I'm probably trading it in by August so OEM might be the best solution.

If you go OEM, order them online, like from Subarugenuineparts.com, otherwise the stealership will likely rip you off. That's what they did to me. I paid $170 for pads all around ($90 for the fronts and $80 for the rears vs $65 for fronts and $52 for rears...).

Just my $0.02.

Definitely. I always get my OEM stuff from Jamie.
