Angry Mini Squeeking noise under the Legacy

Ever since I got my 30K done on my car, I've been getting this squeek sound coming from underneathe my car while idle. I never had this problem before, but it's getting really annoying. It's not THAT loud, but it's loud enough for me to hear it. Anybody know what it is? or am I going to get Subie Gal's response, "It's a Subaru Thing"

Errgh! Last thing I want is to pull up to a rice boy and rev my engine, "Squeek squeek squeek" How embarassing!

I don't think any of us want to hear SubieGal squeeking... oh...wait... that is not the question... Umm..

Well... I have a little short squeek that I hear when I back up out of my carport in the morning (or after my car has sat for a day or two)... Seems to only happen for a split-second, and only in reverse...

Dern cats sleeping under my tires again...

Is this squeek like a fan belt noise?

My xt6 has been tearing through belts like no tomorrow. I get this squeek when i gas it hard for like 10 seconds til it catches, very embarassing when blowing the doors off a civic.

Does it happen when you put the clutch in? My throwout bearing went bad and had to be replaced last summer. It sounded like a fan belt squeek but went away when I pushed in the clutch. I'm not sure but they might tighten the belts on the 30k, so it may just need some time to wear in or something. Where did you get it done at?

The sound isn't consistant. It doesn't happen all the time though. Although, it does sound like a belt noise. But it's not that loud. It sounds like it's coming from under the car. I took my car to University Subaru, and I am not sure EXACTLY what they did, but it seems like this started after I got my car back from them. I never got an itemized list of what they did, but a "30K tune up" on the invoice. Doe anybody know what they do for the 30K Tuneup?

Look in your manual. It lists all of the things that they do.

Have a Nice Day?

I had the same clutch squeeking noise around 30k. One of the 2 clips that holds the t/o bearing in place was broke. I could get the sound to change pitch if I moved the clutch pedal ever so slightly up and down. Have your dealer check into this(it's not easy without dropping the tranny) because I've heard of this happening to more than a few of us.
good luck

P.S. if you have a cool dealer have them put in a better clutch while it's apart. My dealer put one in my car and I loved it.(just don't buy a clutch from Unorthodox. That's the one I got and I had to take it out already. It's a long story but the moral is don't buy a clutch from unorthodox!)
