Default A/C DOA after service

OK so I had my wife's 02 OBS in for service at the Dealership. Had a leaking head gasket which was replaced under the drivetrain warranty. The Tech also replaced the belts. ..great! ...so I thought. Now the A/C does nothing when it's suposedly engaged. The little green light comes on but that's it. Checked the fuse...15A in slot 17 under the dash....is OK. anyone know if there's something simple I can check before I have to drag it back to the dealer?

Look under the hood for an unplugged harness.

My dealer forgot to connect mine when they did their PDI.

I thought the same thing but i'm not seeing any unplugged anything....not that i know where to look. All I can find is the disconnected green 2 wire plug under the dash but I believe that is reserved for diagnostics.

When you say it does nothing, does it blow warm or not blow at all?

P.S. Where in Northern NJ?

It blows just like it does with the A/C turned off. So the fan works fine...It's just the compressor isn't getting turned on. All the A/C button does is turn on/off the little green light that says "AC"

P.S. Live in Northern Passaic Cnty. Work In Rockland Cnty, NY

It sounds like you have a bad compressor, but it could be as simple as a relay under the hood. Call the service manager and let them know it worked when it came it, but now it doesn't. Let him know if it's not related and they can prove it (it might not be), you will pay for at least the diagnosis of the problem. (this shows you are willing to accept responsibilty if it's not related

P.S> I used to live in West Milford, UGL, Wanaque, Wayne, etc. Also lived in Sussex County...graduated from High Point

It was working perfectly before they touched it and I can't imagine them doing anything to damage the compressor so I'm assuming for the time being that it's something simple.

Is the belt on? I'd recheck electrical connections carefully as a ground wire may have been left off. I doubt any thing wrong except something was not hooked back up.

+1 for checking the belts, since you mentioned that they replaced them.

You'll also want to check the pressure in the system. Too low and it won't allow the compressor to turn on.

they have to drain the system to pull the engine...did they refil it correctly? There is a safety pressure switch that will keep the pump from engaging if the system is not filled properly.

Take it back and tell them to fix it.....and don't pay a cent for it.
