Bored with the legacy.

I just pulled my legacy out of winter storage a couple of weeks ago. I had been dieing to do this since the day after i put it up for winter storage. It is always the thing i dread most about the car. having to not be able to play with it for so long. And then when i pulled it out, i just got extremely bored with it. it hasnt had anymore major mods in about a year and half. But i dont have a whole lot of funds right now to do some of the major work i want to. I cant think of anything relatively cheap and quick to do. so guess the question is, Any ideas? What can i do to make it more appealing to me again? i used to love taking it everywhere i went. but now i could care less if we take the leg or the fiance's car.

there is always more money to play with when there is no wifey around. but sometimes she is more fun than the car. i was thinking around the $150-200 range.

Were the Legacy's EVER exciting?

Racing my 89 VW Cabriolet and my 96 Legacy 2.2L would be like watching Timmy and Jimmy fighting - hilarious.

change interior lights to red (free)
Change door panel colour

thanx for some of the suggestions. i really like the write up on changing the interior panels. doesnt seem to be too difficult. or too expensive. think i will try and see from there. and here are a couple of quick pics.

Looks like you need two things...

1. Polish those headlights!!!

2. Get new brakes or at least paint the calipers

Yup. Polish the headlights and maybe change up the grill? The plastic fins pop out. The chrome isn't the highest quality by any stretch of the imagination, so the little black rub tape along the bottom of the grill has the chance to rip the chrome off. Best to heat it up enough to get it off. Also some stuff about grills on SL-i

actually, i did just replace the grill. i went JDM. here is a pic of that too. just put it in about 2 weeks ago.

the car is going in the body shop in about 2 weeks. going to have them paint the chrome part of the grill body color. the chrome has really bad flaking going on

i just went to the local fabric store to check for some swuede or tweed and they got nothin. disappointed! now i have to travel like an hour and a half away to find a bigger fabric store. this is what i get for living in the middle of nowhere.

I was gonna say try Wal Mart but you guys don't have one in Vermont (props, btw, go small business!).

You should be able to find some fabric stuff online.

nope. i have a picture in my head of the style of fabric and color that i want and they didnt have anything like i was thinking. i want to go with micro suede just about the same color as the car. WRB.

well, if you are bored of THAT car, you must be nuts. That is a nice looking ride. Have you thought about tinting your windows? It looks like you already shaved your stereo antenna?!?

Ooh I'd paint that license plate fram black. It looks all rusted and corroded in the pics (from what I can tell anyway). JDM rears and clear corners up front would look trick too.

Everyone knows 2nd gen subarus never go for 1000 unless they're damaged.
