Have a Nice Day? Utec spare solenoid parameters?

Can someone check this?

The directions for the spare solenoid is the red wire goes to (relay, whatever) and the black wire goes to ground.

I have my multimeter hooked to the black wire (which is connected to a ground point on the car) and the red wire to the multimeter.

I set the parameters to what I think would turn on the solenoid at anything ober 4 TPS. It's just not working. Any ideas?

Does the dashboard show that the spare solenoid is being triggered with TPS above 4% ? If not then it's something in the parameters. If it shows on the dashboard that the spare sol is being triggered but you're not getting any pump action it's your wiring.

My wiring looks more or less like yours, apart from that my pump is on the other side of the relay, i.e. 12v goes into the relay directly then the pump is on the other side.

yeah... i just realized a little while ago that the red wire on the utec plug (7) is not power. Its switched ground. Still im at a loss on how to wire this.

This is what I originally tried:

Code:
Utec 1 --> ground (black wire)
Utec 7 --> 85 redwire

        87--> pump
        --

     86|-->ign 85| --> utec 7

         30--> battery
         |

someone send me a clue.

Im testing this now:

utec-red-wire(7) ---> ground of a test light
12v ----> red wire on test light
utec-black-wire(1) --> ground

anything ober 4 tps should light up my test light but its not. any ideas?

RESOLVED: I had it hooked up right but the car must be running. apparently a min RPM of 0 isnt enough.
