Post It's weird seeing my car for sale...

It's out on the dealer lot. Looks good with the WRX wheels on it, though I feel sorry for whoever gets it with those RE92s on it.

Looked fantastic, and I was thinking, "Boy, if I was looking for a bigger station wagon, that one would be MINE!" Very odd, though.

For anyone thinking about switching to the Legacy's brash brother, do so. You won't believe, unless you've driven a recent model Legacy with the stiffer body, how tight the WRX is. The doors close like a vault.

They don't rattle one little bit, Roger. But the same was true of the 2K1 Legacy L that my wife rented. It wasn't as solid as the WRX is, though.

I went by to have another look at it this morning...mmmmm....Legacy.

I got the perfect solution...park you WRX in a shady part of town, rip out the engine/tranny, stash it in your basement, get the insurance money, fix the Imp, sell it, go buy back your Legacy, throw out the engine/tranny, import the B4 turbos and engine management system slap them on your EJ20 Turbo block and WOW you gots yourself a Twin Turbo Legacy B4! Not to mention it would have left hand drive, wow what a bonus!

Question

Hey GTGuy, are you going to change your call sign? just kiding.

Did you make the move from a 95-99 or 2K+ Legacy? Is there a big diff. in interior room going from the older gen. Legacy? Just wondering.

I've heard the WRX wagon have more rear legroom.

I moved from the 95-99 Legacy GT wagon. There really isn't that big of a space difference. My road bike laid flat in the bed of the Legacy. In the WRX, I have to turn the front wheel slightly. The difference is perhaps 6-8".

The cockpit has more leg room than the Legacy. It's much easier for me to get adjusted, and yet the passenger behind me still has some leg room. This wasn't the case in the Legacy.

Fit, finish, and body tightness are light years advanced from the 95-99 Legacy.

wow! I'm surprised you've got more legroom w/ the shorter wheelbase. Sounds like they did a nice job w/ the design. And w/o a sunroof, there's probably more headroom too. But man would I miss my GT's moonroof. Are you missing the low-end torque, or have you adjusted your driving habits? I imagine the 2 cars weigh about the same, at least my GT sedan is about 3100 lbs.

Your GT sedan weighs in at 3300lbs for a 5spd. The WRX weighs in at 3085lbs for the 5spd.

i don't know if anyone's weighed a wrx yet, but my 97 sedan with auto was 3400 lbs with me, a big sub box, and full body armor in it.

I am not missing the low-end torque at all. In part because the WRX spools up so much faster than the Legacy wagon, that I'm in the fun zone before I know it. And there was a posted torque/hp chart for the Rex, which showed that the WRX made more torque/hp at 2500 rpm, than the 2.5L engines make at their peak. Shifting gently, revving to 4K, I'm usually long gone if I'm the first car in line at a light.

And yes, the design is beautifully thought out. I'm really, really impressed.

Oh, the WRX wagon weighs 3165, or something like that.

Hey MY99 2.5GT

Actually the MY97 GT Sedan weighs in at 3090 lbs, it wasn't until MY00 that it bloated up to a lardy 3335 lbs.

my GT definitely doesn't weigh 3300, unless that's w/ me and a friend! I'm pretty sure its very close to the 5spd WRX.
