I'm pretty certain that is a TD05 18G, and to be blunt, it's just not worth swapping a vf39/30/34/23/22 for it, even the best numbers only put it 15-20 whp over similar set-ups. Don't get me wrong, I like the 18G. If I was to get a new turbo for my ej205 it would be my first choice. However, if you already have a vf39/30/34/23/22 or you have a ej257 is the $1,200 really worth 15whp?

Now, a TD06 18G! That makes a big difference!

The TD06 turbine wheel in it's native 44 lb trim is worth about 40-50whp on a 2.5 liter over a similar TD05. That is the one to get!

damn if only the fontana speedway wasn't closed
i really really want to get a time slip for my vf39!!!!

Cobb's map says i should be running 271whp/287ft-lbs
how would u convert that to what the factory will spec it at?

will an 06 wrx stage 3 (cobb vf39) keep up with a stage 2 STI?

I put the vf39 and Sti top mount on my 06 wrx yesterday and took it out to our 1/8th mile track up the road to play tonight. Best I could go was:
60': 1.789
ET: 8.254
mph: 83.8

It feels like there is a little more left in it. I need to make a trip out to a 1/4 track.

maybe I am confused...

around my area, there are 2 litre WRX stage 2s running 13.0 and one even ran a 12.9----shouldnt the 2.5ltr 06 stage 2 be hitting much lower than that in order to be 'impressive'. Whats not adding up???

Are you using a Cobb stage 2 map or the vf-39 cobb stage 3 map? Your custom user title is confusing? With the vf39 and sti TMIC you're not stage 2.5, but stage 3...

few things:

altitude, temperature, tire pressure, stock/modified transmission, suspension setup, weight of the car, agressive/safe tune, and most of all...driver skill.

The only way i think someone can get 13.0 and below with stage 2 cobb is if the temperature is extremely low.

Get your 60ft down to the 1.7 range, and you'll have a 12 second pass with a 104mph trap. Have you gotten your stage 3 set-up protuned yet? That'll give you another 20+whp and raise your trap speed another 2-3 mph.

looking at the amoutn of power u put down with a vf39 is incredible.. u cant do that on a 2L ... i want a 2.5L so bad now.

ur tires def arent breaking loose... but u should be well below a 13.2 with that power
