Hate to see it.

Hey Ben is it possible to get those side marker lights for a 97 Legacy. Do you know where or maybe you could get some.

i suspect something like a sign or light fell on it.... unless someone dropped something from an overpass and caused the driver to crash...

If I had to guess...they hit something, and the driver didn't have a seat belt on. They hit the windsheild, which stretched and fell back in towards the seating position.

Only thing that wouldn't make sense is why they didn't go through the windsheild.

i doubt the window was the result of impact from inside because a)the windshield is caved in from the outside, and b)this car is in japan, so the driver would be on the right side.

regardless, it looks really bad... good to see the passenger cabin held up well though.

i read a little more of the for sale article on the car... it dosen't specify any details on the accident (other than a fatality was involved), but the car is stranded in someone's parking lot and cannot stay and would be towed if he dosen't do something, and since he dosen't have collision coverage he has to get rid of it asap

Geeze!!!
Kinda ironic. the sign in the back says, "Tomare" meaning, "Stop" in Japanese. But tragic.

I really want to add a hood scoop to my outback and thought of cutting one out of another subaru and grafting it into mine. i could then apply better paint to the new hood which would solve the chipping problem! Too bad that hood looks like the crumpling extended right up to the scoop... I'd love to have it cut out and shipped...

Unhappy

On the windshield damage: If you look right behind that section of windshield, you can see the passenger side airbag that had deployed. The passenger airbags typically (at least the first-gen ones) explode upwards out of the dash, against the window, then expand further into the cabin. This tends to shatter the windshield. In the pics, you see it sagging in from gravity.

As for the rest of the car... I hate to see it lost... The headlights. The fog/driving lights. That turbocharged engine!! Sigh, someday, the Radio Flyer will be force fed.
