Default Irregular engine revs?

On my 2006 2.5i, the following happened once. Today.

I started the car this morning, shifted into reverse and prepared to drive out of my parking lot. I went into first gear and kept my foot on the clutch and my other foot off the gas as I waited for a car on the street to drive by. Without giving it any gas, my car was reving steady at 2.5-3k RPM...

I let the car out of first and removed my foot from the gas and it was still reving at 2k...

I just ignored this and drove off. Problem did no reoccur.

I noticed sometimes that unless I put the car in neutral, RPMS might stay around 2-2.5k if I press the clutch pedal without touching the gas. Is this normal?

I had the same problem and asked around in here, as well as my subie dealership. Apparently it is normal, especially if the A/C is on. Annoys me sometimes. The subie dealership said it was nothing to worry about, and if there is anything even the slightest wrong with the drive-by-wire, the check engine light should come on.

Ok,

thanks for the info!

I know when I turn the AC on the revs go up... but today it was off...
I'll see if the car keeps doing it and I'll tell the dealership.

No Problem, and let me know if they tell you something else. The guy at my dealership didn't looked too concerned, and I am not sure if that was because it is not a problem, of if he just didn't care enough to pay attention to me.
