I have the nonfouler fix on my car. While its been working out with two of the smaller ones.... they get pretty rust real fast. single stainkless version would have been nice... but hey, whats $3.

I guess it depends on where you live. I've had one larger one for the better part of two years and no problems.

You could also paint the outside with some high temp exhaust coating before installation to help.

Or just change it out every year for $3 and 15 minutes.

I was one of the first people to run the OBX header and have had it on my car since October of last year. Belive me when I say you'll want the resonator, I only lasted a couple days before I ordered a new muffler and a cherrybomb glasspack (for a resonator) for my 2.25" custom catback. I switched to a borla replica header and a hollowed out cat section the other day and the borla replica is so much quieter than the OBX and dosn't drone on the highway as bad. Don't get me wrong the OBX is a great header and makes so much more power but I'm addicted to the sound of the borla.

resonator or high flow cat? Which would be best to eliminate sound but keep some power? Cause these headers are loud

I'm looking to pick up the OBX header off Ebay, too, but I'm a bit unsure of what I'm actually getting. There are two different vendors selling them on Ebay - in one vendor's pic it appears to show a resonator in the short pipe after the header, in the other vendor's pic it looks more like a hi-flow cat in that short section of pipe. I'm pretty sure it's just a resonator, but I wanted to check so I know what I'm getting.

Can someone confirm for me?

Its a short resonator. Here's a pic I took when I first bought my OBX:

Hope this helps.

Got my obx header installed. Removed the resonator from the mid pipe and had a cat installed because it was stupid loud without and to get rid of check engine light.

Also got a PerfectPower6 just waiting for the plug and play harness so i don't have to hack the wires to the ecu. Can't wait to install it

I am not quite sure I understand. It was loud so you removed the resonator?

Also, the HFC section from OBX does not terminate where the stock catback begins?

I have a Cobb catback with the resonator and don't want to trash part of it for a header/HFC mod.

RSVP when you can as I am toying with the next non-suspension mod.

Yo', SyntheticDefect...I was rooting for the Flames in the playoffs.

At least it appears that the Oilers will bring Canada to the finals [watch OLN tonight at 9].

Me a 'Canes fan so I am glad I may get another chance or two to see them in the playoffs locally.

Thanks with any info on the headers/HFC as I hear they make quite a diff in the bhp.

Is there any particular reason you insist on the bolded blue Comic Sans font? Is it just to annoy everyone else or what?

I've got an OBX setup on the way, should be delivered on Thursday or Friday. I got it off Ebay from Spartec Motorsports, $295 + $32 shipping I think it was. Since I have a non-stock mid-pipe (MRT) and already have a hi-flow cat, my plan is to do as Defect did and replace the resonator with the high flow cat. I'll then stick that resonator into my midpipe (which already has a similar sized resonator) to tone the exhaust down a bit.

I'm also hoping to do a dyno comparison of the MRT and OBX headers, but haven't really talked to any shops to see about getting that done. We'll see...

ArcAngel, I ordered my PP6 and wiring harness from Rallitek ( www.rallitek.com ). The PP6 is $439.00 and the harness is $249.99 (thats american pricing so you have to add the exchange) plus i had to pay an extra $90 at customs for the PP6, not sure how much i'm going to have to pay for the harness yet at customs, hasn't made it there yet. The PP6 was very quick to get here, took exactly a week from when i ordered it, hopefully the harness will be just as quick (ordered it friday night)

Nemocity, The OBX headers don't come with a high flow cat, all they have is the resonator/test pipe. Thats why i removed the resonator. I put the cat in its place. It was way to loud with just a resonator, the cat queited it down quite a bit. I didn't remove nothing from the catback section for the headers, i have nothing there to remove took my stock resonator out awhile ago and increased the pipe diameter to 2.25". the headers and mid pipe bolt on to the factory cat section, so you would't have to hack up any of your Cobb catback. Hopefully this all makes sense if not ask and i'll try my best to explain.

The font is not to annoy anyone, i use it because i like it and its not as boring as that plain font everyone else uses. If i wanted to annoy everyone i would use yellow text instead of blue

The reason everyone else uses the boring, plain font is because it's easy to read. You may not be intentionally annoying us, but you're doing it nonetheless.

Oh, and you'll find at the bottom right corner of each post is this cool thing called the "Quote" button. If you click on that, you'll quote the earlier post that you're replying to (see the above paragraph), which makes it a lot easier for people to follow the thread. You might know what you're replying to, but the other 100,000 people on this board probably don't.
