Thumbs up Exhaust

We'll yesterday I got the Exhaust done on the car. what a Difference, it reves faster and seems to have a higher crusing speed. it's pretty loud, I cant really describe it though, if you have heard a Groupe A Subaru you know what I mean!!!!! what next???? maybe an intercoler?? a new chip and a boost controller or suspension the Eibach\KYB kit from SPD,...possibly A Brake upgrade.

I say suspension should be next! Since I added my H&R's UH!! The car drives totally different. It just sticks to the road. If you wanna drive it & test it out, let me know!!

I am glad you like your exhaust. Kinda loud, huh? Well, we'll just have to see who's is LOUDER!! heh! ask Rich, he'll tell ya...huh Rich?

oh...do I detect a little exhaust envy?? ya know I think that they sell self-help books for that, kinda a Freudian thing ya know......

The shop that did my Exhaust is A-1 Mufflers in Everett the guys name was Wayne he did an Excellant job. I'm pretty picky. if your in the north end and want work done give him a try.

Glad to see your exhaust is working well. Now I can't wait to get mine done( although it already sounds like a Group A Legacy because there is no muffler on it). As for the next upgrade, I'd probably go with the suspension. That way you can use every bit of power you have to the fullest. I took some intake temps at the throttle body with and without the intercooler( just covered the intercooler to get the "without" results) and the WRX intercooler dropped the intake temp almost 30 degrees from the "without intercooler" temps so even with the fairly small intercooler and hoodscoop, it is doing it's job pretty good so you really can't go wrong with an intercooler. About the brakes, unless you plan on doing alot of track days, upgrading the brakes would be a bit of a waste of money as the Legacy Turbo had the biggest brakes ever put on a US Subaru( except for the SVX) and they work fantastic( at least for me). BTW, any pics of the exhaust( specifically the downpipe)?

Yep I agree with shik about brake. If you really want to do, just upgrade the brake line Goodlidge and the brake fluid to ATE SUPER BLUE. It works really good. No need to upgrade to 4 piston.

I argee with shik and submerk, I just change the brake fluid to dot 4 and its become more sensitive, you could do it by yourself with your friend, it won't cost you much!!
Hay Shik, how much does your intercooler cost?
As I said before ,I have an 98 wrx intercooler, I may ask the weld shop to cut and weld, but if the 93-96 intercooler not too expensive, I may order one and sell or trade the 98 intercooler!!!

Ben, I got mine for around $400 bucks with everything including shipping. MRT had to get me a brand new intercooler pipe as they did not have a used one so that jumped the price up a bit. You could either get one from MRT but chances are you could find one cheaper if you post a wanted add in their classified section. Alot of the guys down there replace the intercoolers themselves so they have their old ones laying in a corner of their garage just getting dusty. I'd give that a try first. You might be able to get one ultra cheap but the only good thing with MRT is that they take credit cards which makes things a bit easier. Just be sure to get the intercooler pipe as well as it is very unique and I would doubt seriously anyone would be able to make one for it.
