Hi all!!!
I finally ordered my brand new Subaru!! An Aspen White 2006 Impreza 2.5i 5-speed manual. Because of the colour, I am going to have a bit of a wait! I am so anxious for it to come in! Just wanted to say hello to everyone and share my good news! Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures of my car with her big brother (boyfriend's black '04 WRX which you've all seen many pictures of here!). - MsMiranda

By the way, I was at Place Jacques Cartier yesterday afternoon and there was some kind of event/enactment of some sorts. Kind of like an old party, had people dressing up like the old days, with a "marquis" too. What festival or event was that? It was pretty fun hearing everyone yell "Vive le marquis!" |

Not sure about this one. My guess is it has something to do with the Marquis de Vaudreuil who owned property at that exact spot in the 1720s.

That was probably it then. Seemed like a good time, pity I had to leave for the airport. They were giving away free wine and were getting the bbq ready!

Free bbq and wine? That's probably why it wasn't advertised anywhere or else I would have been there.

Haha...ya I'd have liked to stay!
How's the job market over there? Been looking at condos over there, it's cheap compared to Vancouver, and I'm getting a crazy idea of moving over there! |

Hey, to the OP MsMiranda: We're still waiting for the pics.
Otherwise me and Keiho are hijacking this thread. Keiho: It's hard to tell what the market is since I haven't been looking for a job in quite a while; too busy stressing out over my own business. But from what I gather, overall employment has increased in Montreal for 2006 despite a slight decline in March. Unemployment hovers between 11 and 12%. My friends in the tech sector don't seem to have trouble finding jobs though. My point of view is wether your are willing to wash dishes in a St-Laurent street eatery or develop military aircraft simulators in a tech firm, motivated people will always find a job in Montreal. |

Well, I'm in sales, and I'd like to get into software/hardware sales ideally, but anything sales and pays well would be nice.
Maybe I'll just keep flying out there for vacations. |

Well there are dozens of software companies in Montreal and surrounding areas, from Autodesk to Zytrax. Shouldn't be a problem.

LOL...I don't have anywhere near the coordination needed to even remotely move close to what you'd call "dancing". I think I'll stick to playing hockey haha!
Maybe I should move to Alberta instead...but I can't can't stand the Flames so... |

Yeah well we could use a few oil wells here too. Besides unemployment, the price of gas is also killing us.

Price there is still lower than Vancouver when I was there over the weekend. We're at $1.20 here at the highest, and about $1.15 for the lowest.
We should invade Alberta and take their oil sands! |

We'll just round up all those squeegee guys and send them over! You know, the ones with studded leather belts and metal buckle ridden jackets with heavy zippers that scratch your car when they lean over to "clean" your windshield with dirty water squirted from a used plastic two litre bottle of Pepsi. SURRENDER IS YOUR ONLY OPTION!

We should all trade commodities...maritimes can give us their lobsters, we'll trade our herbal products, montreal can give us their poutine and smoked meats
and alberta their oil.Saskatchewan can keep their wheat. ![]() |
