Default so im going to start a build

well im going to have a garage again soon since the car taking up space will be sold in about two weeks. soon as its gone im finding me a 2.5 block and im building that sucker! now the thing is i could build a bullet proof 2.5 and be happy but i plan on going with a GT35R (perrin kit) so i think to myself why not go bigger to aid in spool up. so i come to a fork in the road. do i get a 2.5 and go 2.65 or 2.7 with it or just build a monster of a 2.5? and if i do go 2.65 or higher(i wouldnt be passing 2.7) should i go with a stroker kit(who makes a good stroker kit?) or piece one together myself. TIA for any help/info you have. and i have searched and i will be reading up on things im just starting my own thread for easy access for myself.

If you are going to stroke and bore I'd buy something from someone that's done it before. If you want to experiment like that, go ahead, but it could be expensive. You are talking about redesigning the motor, not just shoring it up. Axis does a sleeved 2.65 block and Crawford does both 2.65 and 2.8L. Their two approaches could not be more different. They are both sleeved.

Displacement definitely helps with boost onset and lag.

I would set a HP goal , or a 1/4 et and work from there. If you go to build blindly , more than likely you will spend more $$ than you needed too, $0.02

thanks for the input. as for setting a goal with the gt35r id like to try and get around 500-550 awhp out of it. as for the build itself i plan to or build it so
1. i can crank the boost up a little more on the dyno or at the drag strip. and 2. ill have an engine that can handle what i want out of it and not be pushing the limits.

as for purchasing a pre stroked block that will take all the fun out of it for me. and if i build it myself i would feel more satisfaction when its done and putting out some great numbers. if i cant find a good block to start with in the end i might go with a pre storked block etc etc but thats my no other route to take choice. thanks again for the input and also any info will help
