After reading all the trials and tribualtions on the main board about paint, has anyone run into the same probelems with the US-built GTs as the Japanese-bulit RSs? I am just curious of what to look for.
I gave my baby a good bath yesterday and I noticed a few small "QFC parking lot" nicks, and one *nasty* scratch which probably has been there since I have had the car, OR is the result of a "key-job", there is no way that it could have happened by accident since I have had it (it is *above* my rear hatch window, about 18 inches long, not at all deep, and not that bad, you have to look close, so it may buff out). Otherwise, she is clean and pretty... now, if I would not have had those beers when I got home I would be out putting more miles on it across the Magnolia bluff... *sigh* A ------------------ Andy Ressa Seattle, WA MY00 GT Wagon, Timberline Green Pearl. ) Sorry to hear that your NEW car already has scratches on it.[This message has been edited by Akiata (edited October 25, 1999).] |

I have like 2 paint chips on my hood, they are waaay up on the hood. I run the car w/the "hood only bra" every day. I think that helps a lot, but is difficult to take care of. I have to remove it at least every five days, clean it, wax the front in order to keep it scratch free....better than more paint chips.

I have couple gouges on my hood. I have no idea where it came from. I noticed it during the winter last year. <sigh> Word of Advice!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR BABY IN THE AUTOWASH!!! It will give you scratches like no tomorrow, and they are not liable for them. So washing it on your own is your best bet.
After every wash, I use Griots Garage's Speedshine spray on wax. gives your car a great deep shine!!! and it doesn't take much to put it one. Protects very well. Great stuff!!! I strongly recommend it. Next time we meet up, I'll bring the catalog. Check out their Website, they are in Tacoma. http://www.griotsgarage.com/ Rich ------------------ 98 Legacy GT (Black with the APEXi Sticker) Seattle, WA.
