could definitely be the wires. did you do a full visual inspection? Any charred parts of the cable?

The wires are the same length... switch them front to back on the misfiring side, and see if the problem follows.

I had a cyl 1 misfire a couple months ago. I believe it ended up being the gas I filled up with (BP ew). I cleared the code and put something other than BP in it, havn't had a misfire since.

I replaced my plugs and wires and my cylinder 1 misfire code went away.

My plugs had arc marks from the terminal end, across the porcelain, to the boot end.

You say that like BP is some small station that everyone avoids. Any of the major oil companies have good gas, although sometimes an individual station is crappy.

Well, technically, almost ALL gas stations have the SAME gas, it's the additives that make it their own.

Actually, BP is know to have crappy fuel because of the additives they put in it.

They put 10% ethanol into it. I've never had a problem with it, I fill up there all the time (because the station is a mile from my house).

i just got a flashing CEL.

IMMEDIATELY cut it off and rolled to the side thinking WTF?! considering a flashing CEL on any other car means CUT THE ****** OFF NOOOW and apparently not in this case. looked in the manual and it said misfire. so i said ok, i cranked it and eased home. like stayed on, but never flashed again. odd thing is, i never felt the misfire. perhaps it has to do with thte hard starting. i'm gonna replace the plugs tomorrow as well as read the codes. i can use the big stuff at school, should be cool.
