Default Utec anti theft mode flakey

So, sometimes when I put the remote switch to #7 "anti theft mode" I can still start my car. WTF? Anybody else experiencing this? I'm on 5.0.

I have tried it several times, and it will never start.

Have you hooked up a laptop to make sure its reporting switch position 7?

For the anti-theft mode to work the ECU and UTEC must be powered down. Normally this occurs within 5 or 10 seconds of turning the ignition off, however after sitting overnight this may take up to 5 minutes.

Like Pete said you have to wait for the relays to click, wich indicates that the ecu has powered down.
