Sounds like you had a blast. I am still trying to get enough guts to get out there on the asphalt. I tried it once with my 92 Corolla a while back, I told myself never again will I autocross and make a fool out of myself.... Well, I have a Legacy, things are different.
Have you considered Rally-crossing? Now THAT my friend, is one of the funnest race I've ever done. Next time we have one, you should come join us. the Legacy Team.

We'll I finally let my Legacy Turbo stretch it's legs at auto-xing and I must say it was truly a blast!!! The first thing I noticed was how incredibly horrible my stock suspension really is( 111,000 miles) and my tires were not much better. I always knew both were pretty much shot but auto-xing makes this alarmingly evident! I can't wait for new suspension and tire/wheel combo. The second thing I noticed was how incredibly good the Legacy Turbo brakes are. No need to change those anytime soon. The car also had very little understeer and would probably get better with some decent tires. All in all, I was quite surprised at how well the Legacy felt even needing the above things very badly. I think there might have been 3 or 4 other imports there. The rest were firebirds and vetts and mustangs and that type of stuff, but surprisingly they were all real helpful. The North East PA region of the SCCA were really a great bunch of people which made it easier to not be so afraid of screwing up.
Despite what the Impreza autocross guys from the board told me, I decided to give it hell on all 3 runs which resulted it 3 DNFs.I didn't hit any cones, just missed a gate or started a slalom section on the wrong side or something dumb like that. I'll know better next time to take it easy and just get any kind of time. At least then I will have something to compare to. Anyways, for anyone who never did it before, TRY IT! It is a blast! Next week I'm going to give drag racing a try, basically just to get a base time so I know how much it improves when I start with the mods. Get those Legacys out there racing!!!
