Default Am I In Great Danger? *Name This Spider in My Bathroom*

She looks harmless to me...
plus she's killed a lot of other bugs from the looks of the carcasses on the floor...

so should I kill her or just let her be?
will she turn her back on me and bite my ass while I'm taking a shower?

IBDirtyBathroom (that's the one spot i dont clean )

if your home wasnt infested with bugs there would be no spiders there...either you clean very good...or let the spider eat the bugs

I'm sure it is harmless to you. The only spiders thet we really have to worry about are black widows and/or brown recluse. That one in your bathroom being neither.

There are far more spiders than those two that you should be worried about.

Hobo for one.

You're right about the Hobo. There are about four different species, out of the 3,000, exactly to worry about in North America. The Hobo (funnel-spider) is one of them. Along with tarantulas but the hair on the tarantula is the main concern. I was speaking generally.

generally speaking, a bite from a tarantula is no worse than a sting from a bee. It's all about the histamine reactions to the venom (or the hair that can be shot at you).

In my house I only worry about the recluse spider. We are not too overly populated with Black Widows here, same with funnel web spiders.

Our biggest threat is the invading Parsons spider.

RAAWWWWWRRR!

and Im always on the "you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone" terms with spiders. They walk all over my floors and walls and I just let them go about their business. When they're in my bed or my clothes pile it's a completely different story. That's in violation of the spider dave treaty of 1867 and death is imminent... though I've been known to relocate spiders outside.
