Default Widest wheel possible on a BE?

Will 18x8.5 with a +47 offset fit on a lowered BE? If not what is the widest that will work? I think Ben's old Detroits were 8" wide but I may be wrong. Any insight?

talk with JoeT i know he fit slipstreams on his, 8.5" and whatever the offset is that they list for those, but they were 17x8.5, but it likely wont matter, he used 245 tires.

like I said, Joe is running 245's no rubbing and no rolling and he is lowered, but I am not sure how much.

That's a lot of wheel and tire. I think BEs do look better with 18s than 17s, but why so wide?

I agree on the 18 vs 17 issue. The wheels that I have my eye on are only available in 18x8.5.
