Default TiC May Driveline Thread

The name of the game for May is bushings, and do we ever mean bushings!! We've got lots of bushings for your driveline!!

Leading the pack we've got the NEW TiC 5mt pivot bushings.

Designed to replace the stock bushings and sleeve at the pivot point in your shift lever these will eliminate a bunch of slop that develops over time due to the stock bushings wearing out. These are available in two versions - wide and narrow depending upon which shifter you have. Here's the pic:

Here are the links:
Narrow - http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=90
Wide - http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=89

Price is set at $19.37. Come on for that cheap you can't afford not to get a set, and shipping in the US is free!!

Next up are the TiC rear diff mount bushings.

Designed to replace the stupidly soft, and squishy bushings for the rear diff mount (that dogbone thingie) they will eliminate that sonic boom clunk you get during high RPM shifts. These will work on all 02+ Imprezas. Here's the pic:

Here's the link:
TiC Rear Diff Mount Bushings - http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=17

Price is set at $40 per set. A great price for a great improvement, and, as always, shipping in the US is free.

Building off the above we throw in the Kartboy Outrigger bushings to bring you the TiC Klunk Killer.

This bundle is made up of the Tic rear diff mount bushings AND the Kartboy rear subframe outrigger bushings. Combining these two great products not only eliminates the sonic boom from the rear (ok, either will take care of that), but also gives you a much more solid rear end feeling by providing better feedback, and overall better throttle response.

Here's the pic:

Here's the link:
Klunk Killer - http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=24

Pricing for this bundle is set at $70, and you know what? Shipping is free in the US.

Next up we've got the Kartboy Tranny Cross Member Bushings.

Keeping with the theme that the stock bushings are just NFG (No freakin' good) for the average enthusiast Kartboy made these little puppies. They replace the stock soft bushings (are we seeing a theme here?) that go between the components that make up the tranny subframe. These are especially great if you've upgraded to a stiffer tranny mount. Afterall, where do you think the play is going to go?

Here's the pic:

Here's the link:
Kartboy Tranny Xmember bushings - http://turninconcepts.com/product_in...products_id=62

Here's the price: $30, and that includes shipping in the US.

Default 5MT Pivot bushings - Which ones do I need?

5MT Pivot bushings - Which ones do I need?

I know this is going to be asked so I thought I'd answer ahead of time. There are two versions of the pivot bushings - narrow and wide. The question is going to come up - which ones should you get?

If you have a 1997-2001 Impreza you need the narrow version.

If you have a 2002+ Impreza WITH the SPT/STI factory short throw linkage option you need the narrow version.

If you have a 2002+ Impreza and kept the stock linkage then you need the wide version.

What about other models?
97-04 Forester gets Narrow
97-99 Legacy gets Narrow
2000-2004 Legacy gets Wide
2005+ Legacy gets Wide
2006+ Forester XT gets Wide
STi guys - NONE (yet) - The STi is an entirely different size.

Ok, what if you replaced the stock lever?

These will work on ANY lever that REUSES the stock pivot bushings. This includes Kartboy, Cobb, Subydude, and any number of others (including the POS gold colored aftermarket ones).

What about the install?

Well, there's two sets of instructions out there:
Ours - http://turninconcepts.com/instructio...ngs/index.html

Peaty's - http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6418

I know it sucks, but word is they got shipped to us today. Besides, I'm shipping your pivot bushings now, and you can think of it this way - two packages == two gliders!!

Well, we've got all sorts of bushings, but none for the ying yang. We can look into making some though - what's wrong with your current ying yang? Is it too loose? Too much slop or do you just not like the feeling?

And to make things a little easier to understand in regards to what bushings go where I'm going to throw a pic up. I know it's not the best pic in the world, but Unabomber is supposed to be making a pretty one for us. It's too bad he never answers his phone or I'd bug him about it.

Just ordered some pivot bushings

(I have a SPT shifter)

I'm guessing you don't have shift linkage bushings for the older models?

Shipping is free in the US. Kartboy lever is $100, and pivot bushings are $19.37. You need to know if you need the wide or narrow version of the lever and bushings.

Either way, here's a direct link to the WRX driveline area on our site:

So I was talking to Big Ron the FAQmeister a while ago, and the conversation went a little something like this:

Ron: Hey Clint.
Clint: Hey Ron, what's up?
Ron: That picture you have of where the shifter bushings go sucks.
Clint: Gee, thanks Ron. I know it sucks, but I needed one on short notice, and that's the first I found.
Ron: Let me help you out with that <sends link>
Clint: <gets link> Sweet!! Where'd you find that?
Ron: Over on Scoobymods
Clint: Cool, we'll use it. Thanks Ron. We love you bunches.

Ok - maybe that wasn't the conversation verbatim, but that's about how it went.

So, you may ask, what's the point Clint? Is this just more of your weird babbling? Well, maybe, but I thought I'd throw the pic up here so people can get more used to seeing the pretty one. Here it is:
