the paint job was 550$..400$ and 150$ to fix a few dings..the guy gave me 150$ off a, so it got a sealer and clear coat...the would have done the door jams for 100$,and im guessing the inside of the hood and fenders for maybe 75-100$...i didnt get that dont because i am planning on doing it..evenything under the hood is primer blue and i want to paint it all, but didnt have another 200$ to spend at the same time as everything else..

The color kinda gets some taking used to, but I can't complain cause it's been a really good car. Twould look better if I changed out the orange for the clears, but that's what the wrx is fer .

Since you replaced the hood from and RS, you should've added an RS bumper as well. Or did you want to keep the L look? Joe

Sorry for the bad pic inside. I had just spent 4 hours washing and it started to rain so wasnt about to take it outside for pictures. The suspension install took longer than expected because I was sent 2 left front struts and 2 right rears. And i Had to rebuild and reseal my oil pump due to it spitting 4 quarts of oil all over I-75 on my 250 mile trip home from school. Here it is with KYB AGX struts, neato pink STi springs, SPO rear sway bar, cusco rear strut tower brace, and I figured while i was at it Ide add some legacy front brakes. Its so much fun now. All I need is something called power. Its going to be either really hard to find or really expensive.......

Man, I soooo want my car too look like that (really all I need are the wheels) My new RS suspension has helped alot in the handling and fun department though

As for power, you could go the route Racecarriot went, and get pullies, exhaust, cone filter, and a ProECM chip which he said helped alot for his 1.8... And Im not 100% sure yet, but aparently the RS headers can fit on the 1.8 and are a little larger, that could add a couple hp possibly (I might have the chance to try soon, local I-clubber has some RS headers laying around, would make a cool experiment)

I am strongly leaning towards the engine swap idea myself. However, on a college budget I can not even come close to affording all of the other components such as a new transmition and rear diff and crossmembers and all. I am lucky and have access to an EJ20 out of a 97 Type RA and a 2.5 from a 99 legacy. Even though I am incredibly fortunate to be hooked up with engines, I have no more money to finish such a project. So for now I will have to live with a reliable, rather fuel efficient 1.8 to get me to and from school and all around. although if that exhaust thing works it is something ide strongly consider in the mean time. let me know how that works out if you get a chance to try it.

I actually got a chance to check out the RS headers today in close detail and take off my muffler to compair!

Found out the RS midpipe is totally unusuable with the 1.8 headers, and vise versa... But the RS muffler fits fine on my 1.8 midpipe... Go figure.

The RS headers have the same bolt pattern for connecting to the engine, and are roughly the same shape. The O2 sensor connectors may or many not be compatible, but I did find out that the 1.8 headers come out as a 1.75" width, while the RS comes out as a 2" width, so there is a difference there, dont know if it will help exhaust flow.

BTW, I just put the roof scoop on for the pics...it ain't really on the car, and I decided not to go with the roof scoop, even though I paid $220 for the scoop/vent, then had it painted! It's for sale!:

Hey, how'd you get a folding rear seat?

It will look REALLY sweet if you put some springs on it, too, get rid of some of that fender gap!

the folding rear seat is from a '93 legacy. i had to cut a little bit of the metal frame off the seat to get it to fit my impreza, but it worked out well.

Springs i've thought about, but i've got rubbing on my rear tires i've got to roll my fenders as it is. If i lower it, i'm gonna need some stiff springs so it doesn't hit the fender driving or when i weigh it down with my junk or ppl in the back.

<chanting>Turbo, Turbo, Turbo</chanting>

And while you're at it, do a roof scoop! I can even supply it!

Yeah, yeah, tonight I was cruisin' w/not One, but TWO chicks lol. They're actually just two good friends, but they're crazy about the Scooby! (and they're both hotties, too, which is always nice! lol!)

They love the speed/sound of the car. Tonight I only got to rip up a Camaro and some old hooked up muscle car, so we didn't have as much action as we'd like. I showed them how effortlessly the car sweeps from 70-120 mph in a matter of seconds (thanks, ported TD05-16G)...and the needle is still sweeping rapidly downward, but I run out of guts between 120-130, especially with other peeps in the car, even though it is rock solid at those speeds. The one girl loves how it handles turns...ZERO body roll. Anyway, our high speed run was at 1 AM and we were on a deserted 65 mph highway, so it wasn't as dangerous as it may sound, and I'm really not all THAT crazy/stupid. But it is fun driving a car that does 0-60 in 4.something seconds and sounds like it has a V8 under the hood. What can I say, my L is a beast. She is terrifying when I launch off the line, like a bat out of hell, or a lion roaring 3 inches from your head. Women and children flee for cover. Grown men faint or wet their pants. She might even be the King Daddy King L of the east coast???

Anyway, we had a fun time playing in the ocean at midnight, just acting like three kids...the water was cold, but you get used to it! Tomorrow I'll have to vacuum all the sand in the car... And some day, it'll all just be memories about fast cars and fun times at the beach...kinda sad to start thinking like that, but that's life! It's as much a journey as a destination...

I think it would be a shame for you to give up such a unique car and get a me-too car like a WRX wagon...ever since I was 8 years old, I've been saying some day I would create a CRAZY fast car that is completely unique...back then I was thinking more along the lines of a Trans Am project, but the lure of an AWD Import was too much!...anyway, I always wanted a car that when I drive by, peeps will know it has to be my car because there is no other car in the world like it. That's why I originally was gonna do the roof scoop, too. Anyway, I like having a car that peeps have never seen. A nice, clean hook-up, no corners cut

The only worry is insurance will never cover my upgrades, so if I get $5k of damage, my car would probably be "totaled" despite the fact that I've put $14k into it!...(not counting sound system I really need to figure out a way around this, even if I can just ask them to value my car at say, 12 Grand, and I'll pay higher premiums...would be worth the peace of mind. Whereas if you get a WRX wagon, you're totally covered; of course you'll also pay at least a grand more per year for that coverage than you would for an L!
