I started with kodiak wintergreen, then moved my way up to cherry skoal, and to skoal straight. And then after about 6 months I went to the crack of chewing tobacco, Copenhagen snuff. And there I stayed for about a year and a half. Now I am addicted to Commit Lozenges because I am too afraid to go back on cope snuff and get mouth cancer. Unit 91 02-13-2004, 07:03 PM Used to use Skoal Wintergreen when I couldn't smoke in my dorm room. I've chewed Skoal original Skoal wintergreen longcut Kodiak( when all they had was wintergreen) Skoal Cherry Skoal mint and my latest Rooster Mint I only have a dip once every week or so now. The business man with his suit, brief case, and hot wife is just as likely to pinching a dip as the hillbilly farmer with 3 teeth. cky3396 02-13-2004, 10:11 PM yea but if you were a sheep, would you **** a sheep StuBeck 02-13-2004, 10:15 PM This guys not one of us! And my car has that fresh minty ass smell. Soyelflaco 02-14-2004, 01:06 AM ..makes me puke... kidatari 02-14-2004, 01:13 AM Skoal straight, or some Rooster wintergreen. It's a pretty occasional thing, basically when I'm working like crazy and won't get a chance to smoke any time soon. eurojax 02-14-2004, 02:40 AM I really wish that a tobacco company would come out with a safe chewing tobacco. Like, smoking, regardless of what is in it, will always be bad, it's smoke into your lungs. But chew is, a leaf being inserted into your mouth. Can't they make a chewing tobacco/smokeless tobacco that doesn't have fiberglass and all that other bull**** in it? All I want to do is get that tobacco taste, without having to have that tobacco hole in my mouth. funky homosapien 02-14-2004, 03:49 AM hes a healthy alternative; smoke pot!!:D cky3396 02-16-2004, 04:26 AM Originally posted by kevinsUBARU "Get me some chew woman! TFW 02-16-2004, 11:39 AM Chewing just makes me want to puke. I just don't like seeing people spit globs of brown crap all over the sidewalk and have it dripplin down their chins... so fraken nasty. BluSuby 02-16-2004, 11:52 AM Originally posted by TimStevens  That's funny, because I've known lots of business men with nice suits and not a one has chewed, and I've known just as many hillbilly farmers in VT, and quite a few of them, and their kids, have chewed. My statement was reality. If you don't see it, you dont notice it. Not to mention that guy may not do it while working. I dipped for 12 years, yet I never did it during work or school. I agree it is disgusting, that is why I rarely do it anymore. Bryan Pre-diddy 02-16-2004, 12:12 PM I tried it a couple times. It was at boarding school where smoking was risky, as dip was a big alternative. I belive at one point the entire Sophmore/Junior/Senior boy's dorm had tried it at least once. At the end of the year, somone bought the guy who started it all a bunch of cans (a log?) as a present and got everryone who tried it to sign a paper. But I could only do it a couple times. The first time was the greatest buzz of my life. The second replaced it as the new best buzz I've had. The third time, I think I swallowed some and damn near threw up. Problem was, I had done it right before lunch, so here I am, sitting at the Headmaster's table. My face was visibly pale, and I was about to puke all over the place. I spent the next hour promising to God I wouldn't ever dip again if I just didn't throw up. To this day, I almost get sick from just smelling Cherry Skoal. (And I do think its gross too) TimStevens 02-16-2004, 12:38 PM Originally posted by BluSuby My statement was reality. If you don't see it, you dont notice it. Not to mention that guy may not do it while working. I've also ridden the train and plane with many such business people, and known lots of them personally, and none have dipped or "chawed". Sisqocqk 02-16-2004, 12:53 PM i used to dip all the time just to stay awake in a lot of military schools eventhough it wasn't allowed in most because of dehydration issues. i used to put a fat dip in my lip, place a sharpened stick under my chin and call it a night. I dipped Copenhagen Snuff or Long Cut and skoal straight only. I still dip when i go fishing and stuff but basically quit because it's like $7 a can in CA. It's a lot harder to quit than cigerettes for sure. I used to smoke too but quit that cold turkey like it was a joke. EDIT: LOL i used to have a special 3 gallon jug as a spitter because my lame roomate hated the habit and i hated him too. I'd fill it to the top after about 3 weeks or so hen clean it out and do it again:banana: TheRex 02-16-2004, 12:54 PM Let's clear this up. You cannot "chew" Skoal. It is not "chewing tobacco." You "chew" Levi Garrett or Redman etc. For the record, I know countless business folk who dip regularly. Sorry, just a pet peeve. KEEP THAT SKOAL BABY! sonicblue 02-16-2004, 01:02 PM Played baseball through college = sure-fire way to get introduced to tobacco! I've chewed tobacco and dipped. Chewing is OK but I never really took to it. I've dipped Skoal and Kodiak - just too damn nasty for me. Ridiculous buzz and always make my stomach feel horrible. I dip Hawken occasionally - just enough of a buzz to make me comfy, no addictive quality at all and much easier on the lip. It's confined almost entirely to when I'm studying or playing golf. eurojax 02-16-2004, 01:24 PM I miss the dizzying buzz, it was almost like being drunk, but you couldn't get in trouble for it. Are there any direct links to cancer from Nicotine? Or is it all just what the tobacco company puts in the tobacco? I've been chewing on these Commit Lozenges for about 6 months now feeling relatively safe. It's just a minty lozenge that delivers 4 mg of nicotine. TheRex: I used to CHEW cope snuff. Not really for any other reason but to gross my buddies out. I know what your getting at. Redman = Chewing tobacco. If It comes in a hockey puck, it's smokeless tobacco. My dentist in the army looked at my teeth and said, "you have a little bit of pre-cancer in the lower right portion of your jaw...stop now and it'll heal in 3-4 months. Or just switch to the other side because i know it's hard to quit" that's when i officially quit ocld turkey. I asked the dentist if i could use the mint leaf chew for a bit until i kicked the habit. He said ANYTHING held hext to the soft tissue of your inner lips and gums will cause cancer. dunno if this is true or not. to tell you the truth if it came down to the chemicals in the dip being removed (if they caused cancer) and the tobacco co's decreasing the price i'd have a fat wad of copnhagen in my lip as we speak. Are there any doctors or dentist in the house that can shed some light. If it's the chemicals im going to write a letter to copenhagen and ask them to make "copenhagen organic" instead  TheRex 02-16-2004, 02:43 PM Originally posted by JaxxaJ TheRex: I used to CHEW cope snuff. The visual image of that will haunt my dreams forever. strider98 02-16-2004, 03:43 PM When I was nine, my dad quit smoking and briefly, for about 3 mos. or so, took up dipping Skoal Bandits. I got into his stash by his living room chair one day and put three of them consecutively in my mouth. I would put one in, swallow the juices, not spitting once, until the little bag thing split open, spit that out, and put in another one. About 30 minutes later, I told my mom that I wasn't feeling too well, and she gave me some orange juice. I was fine after that. No puking or anything like that. I obviously didn't know what I was doing, so now that I look back on it I laugh:lol: LJG33 02-18-2004, 11:01 PM I was just going to ask this question. I still dip skoal, one can each of the last 3 weeks, before that just one fatty/wk for 4 months. I used to dip so much in HS, prep school, and college, because while playing ice hockey and lax it was always availabe and so relaxing after a game or practice. I still like to do it but not as much as back then. Playing madden 2003 and throwing in a fat lip was always fun in the dorm room. Anyways, glad to see a few of you still keep up the habit. Skoal Mint, nothing else compares to it, cherry sucks the most. 2pt5RS 02-18-2004, 11:06 PM my roommate just bought a tin of cherry flavored skoal....its quite nasty, let me tell you!! I prefer vanilla when I dip, which is once every 3 or 4 months 2pt5RS 02-18-2004, 11:19 PM blech, I'm off to hurl!! Oquipah 02-18-2004, 11:30 PM stoopid tobacco companies. It's their fault you know! Really it wasn't MY choice to start this nasty habit, but they brainwashed me into trying their harmless gateway drug called cigarettes. Now it's Skoal, mint to be exact. My GF can't stand it and says it looks like I have the runs when I spit (into clear bottles BTW) To comment on the whole "no professionals/business oriented folk chew" post....bs....they're just trying to hide it better than say a 30 something dairy farmer in the middle of God's Country. In fact, being a professional myself, and working with several other smokeless tobacco users I would say that your hypothesis is quite flawed, quite flawed indeed. (And no, I don't drink Bud and watch NASCAR) Peace, Oquipah PS- Maybe a visit to the doctor to wake me up would get me to quit. cky3396 02-19-2004, 11:48 PM Originally posted by 2pt5RS my roommate just bought a tin of cherry flavored skoal....its quite nasty, let me tell you!!
