I registered, I can read NASIOC, but it says I can't post or reply. |
When you signed up for NASIOC, you entered an email address. Shortly after you registered a confirmation email was sent out to that email address. Inside that email was a link you MUST click on to confirm the email account belongs to you, so you can begin posting on NASIOC. If you haven't received that email, you might first check the spam, or junk mail folder, or even your spam settings in your email to make sure it didn't get blocked. Sometimes just adding the email address [email protected] will allow the messages through. There are however some ISPs that do not allow emails from NASIOC to go through because of their very strict spam filtering. One known is Verizon. If this didn't solve your problem see the other topics in this area of the FAQ for help. |
I didn't get the email to activate my account, now what? |
If you already checked to make sure the email wasn't caught by a spam filter, then it probably means your host isn't allowing the email through to you. If that's the case then you can try to following steps to get another confirmation email.

I didn't get my activation/confirmation email, or lost my activation/confirmation email. |
If you do not know your activation code, you can find it in the email that was sent to you when you first registered. If you need the activation/confirmation email sent again, use the following link: Send new email with activation code(you must use the email address you registered with) If you have your activation email, but the link in the email isn't working properly use the following link to open up the activation form to copy and paste the activation id manually. Activation FormP.S. Remember if you have requested more than one activation code to be emailed to you only the very LAST one will work. When you request a new one all prior activation codes become void. |
I forgot my username / password - can you provide it for me? |

I log in ok, but for some reason I keep getting logged out - what's up with this? |

Junk mail and pre-approval of the [email protected] e-mail |
Usually, questions posted to this account are answered within 2-3 days, however, please note that the [email protected] e-mail gets literally hundreds of e-mails a day. 99.9% of these are junk mail. If you do not receive an answer to your question within 5-7 days, please resend it as the earlier message was probably disregarded by the system as junk.
In addition, please be aware that you need to pre-configure your account to accept e-mails coming from [email protected].
As time is extremely limited, we will not take the time to register your e-mails when we receive messages like: I apologize for this automatic reply to your email. To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I have approved beforehand. If you would like to be added to my list of approved senders, please fill out the short request form (see link below). Once I approve you, I will receive your original message in my inbox. You do not need to resend your message. I apologize for this one-time inconvenience. Click the link below to fill out the request: Please pre-configure your e-mail settings to accept mails from [email protected] |
I confirmed my account, I used to be able to post, but now I can't. Why? |
We recently implemented a feature to help control bad user email addresses. The forum software will check for bounced emails (emails that come back to us because the email address is invalid). Once we get 25 bounced emails, the system will automatically send you a warning through the Private Messaging System from the user NASIOC Security. After 50 bounced emails we will set your account back to awaiting email confirmation, forcing you to update your email address on file and re-confirm it by clicking the confirmation link sent to your new email address.
In order to avoid this, please make sure your email address is always valid one, or if you do get the automatic warning message, update your email address immediately to prevent the system from restricting your access to the site. |
