I must have mistaken it for something else. Maybe because the EVO comes with the 235/45-17. As for the gearing a little extra is always good for autocross, but it is so minimal between 225/45 & 235/45 that you would not even notice the difference on the street. The positive side would be that it would correct the speedo.
