An option just popped into my head earlier today. Having already opened my headlights once for clearing, I made some observations. Would it be possible to simply swap in the single reflector piece from STi headlights into a regular '04 WRX housing, then utilize one of the McCllough H1 kits? Seems like the light source placement with respect to the reflector and the output couldn't be that significantly different. This way you could salvage reflectors out of wrecked headlights, and save quite a lot of cash, but still be doing much better than just throwing the kit into stock reflectors. Toss on a set of used levelling motors (likely salvaged from the same lights) and your in business, for still quite a bit cheaper than even a used pair of STi lights. Can anyone (pardon the pun) enlighten me? I've never had a chance to look at some open STi units.
