In simple terms it removes compliance from the mounting of the subframe to the chassis. This way, since parts of the suspension/swaybars, etc, are mounted to this subframe so its response to bumps/turns is more accurate and direct, instead of squishy. Kinda hardenes s*(t up. So I guess.

Never tried them but me thinks NVH goes up with these though. Might have to give it a try.
