If 300bhp will content you, do the USDM Ej205 swap. Then, get a catless up-pipe, a TBE, and a VF30 or VF34 and some STi pinks. The turbo and injector change is making the set up very close to a JDM EJ207 2.0l set up. You won't have the advantage of the stronger block or better heads, but with a Cobb stage 2.5 reflash, you will be at 310-315chp.

And do stick with the stock tranny. The gearing is far superior to a USDM WRX's gearing. I have driven a lot of these cars. If the $$$ aren't their for a full blown RA tranny, the RS tranny is the next best option gearing-wise...
