It seems, from reading some of the other threads, that several of these problems are NOT being taken care of. In any case, I don't wish to spend any time at some shop, whether for mods or repeated warranty repair attempts.

A poll in this forum indicated only 38% of some 154 WRX owners experienced no problems at all. And this for a 2002 model. How many of these 38% will yet encounter or develop a brake failure, transmission problem, or some new issue that only arises after 50,000 miles? I can wait til Consumer Reports has evaluated the 2002 and 2003 MY. By then Honda or Toyota will have a competing awd product. Or a used 2002 Audi S4 might be OK.
