Exactly, you can keep it closed as long as you want. This lets your turbo spool as fast as possible. The stock boost control solenoid bleeds air off the permanent connection between the compressor and wastegate. As boost builds, the wastegate creeps open and boost building slows...

I wish I new more about the 'other' engine management options, but I know my AEM PEMS will let me control any type of boost controller. I have no idea what the other systems will do.

A high quality external electronic boost controller has the same result however - so the Greddy E01, Blitz SBC-id, Apexi AVC-R, HKS EVC V, Turbo XS Dtec-BC-Pro or either world racing controller.

I had some logs to post, but started tuning my idle fuel delivery when I got home and forgot to save them... dumb! soon though...
