I am also trying to decide between EJ257 or EJ20T modified in a GM6.
As of right now it will probably see very few events but I am very passionate about my daily driving.
My immediate goal is 300hp but would also like the availability of even more ponies. An extra $3k now would be worth it if upgradeability goes way up. How much more time/money/headache is it to do the full STi swap. Is it really worth it? DCCD, 6 speed? Of course the more you increase HP beyond factory the OP, the more unreliable. But, I've also heard and read that Subaruís 25, even the 257 isn't their most durable block (particularly '04).
What if this is the scenario; $10K, daily driver (no drag racing), possibly modified later but no more than 400-450hp max. Thank you all for your $.02 so far.
