I've heard of peoples pumps breaking and/or not working after a short time with smc kits. Not sure if it was the old pump, or the new pump, or if it makes a difference. Here are a few interesting things I've noticed though
. Shurflo pumps which many kits use are not ment to run above 180F(some lower) and aren't ment to have liquid which is hotter then that going through them. Also, in most cars, the fuel pump and tank are not located in the engine compartment.
