Seems there's a couple of different power levels being considered in this thread. I would say that for the 300-350whp guys the stock Ej22T rods would be fine (assuming a proper tune). For the 400whp guys, you might want to spend the money on aftermarket rods. I imagine that it's been done on stock rods,but it really probably is the outer limit on them. Just because they are forged doesn't make them SUPER strong. There's definitely better and stronger rods out there. If you search around a bit there's a couple of threads with graphic failures on Ej22T bottom ends, and it's generally been the rods that let go.

You are wrong. Even lowly Ej18 rods are forged...
