yeh i think the added width and better gearing (more than anything) would make a noticeable difference. I would have switched to 235/40 too if i stayed 17....but i sold my 17's and got 18's I wonder too if there is a noticeable difference in the compounds (probably more in the wet if anything....I didn't find them to be so good in wet braking or dry). I don't track / auto-x as often as i used to. So I ended up getting the falken fk-452 instead of rs2 in 225/40/18. I figure they should be able to hold up to 1-3 auto-x and maybe one track day a season. I'm not trying to be competitive I just like to improve on my driving skills amd have some fun
