Umm, nope. Look again. You may have been looking at the VF34. The VF39 peaks in the low 3's whereas the 18g peaks in the high 3's (based on the TQ curves, not the HP curves). But look at all the VF39 TQ around 2500 rpm... 260+ ft-lbs as compared to the 18g's 210 at that rpm. 18g is always gonna have top end on a VF39 but for sure the VF39 spools better/earlier and has a better bottm end. And, it doesn't give up that much on the top either. For rallyX and autoX, I'll sacrifice the top end. And on the street, I'll rarely ever use that kind of power.
