Thumbs up Good body shop in the San Francisco Bay Area

Just wanted to share my two good experiences with a body shop:

101 Auto Body
1223 San Pablo Ave
Albany, CA 94706
Fax: 510-559-8849

Had my first experience several years ago when my 1995 Impreza L was broken into. The driver side door was dented around the door handle, the door handle plastic was scratched, and the lock cylinder was damaged. 101 Auto did a good job repairing the dent, cleaned the interior/exterior afterwards, and gave me a small touch-up paint because the owner saw several hood chips on my car. I compared the price estimate among about 4 body shops which were AAA approved. They had the lowest price and were the nicest.

Had my second experience recently for a parking dent on the rear quarter panel and bumper. An independent appraiser insisted that the rear quarter panel had to be replaced (cut the body, stick in the new one, blend, etc.), but the people @ 101 Auto said that it would cost me twice compared to trying to repair the dent. Fixed the dent, reshaped the bumper, and repainted the whole bumper (which had other parking-related scratches). When they were unable to deliver the car in the date promised (because of the weather?), they even said that they would rather reimburse me for car rental than releasing it then and not be sure about the quality. They even painted a small part I had with the same color for free. They cleaned the interior and exterior as well. They polished the dashboard and made it look and smell like a new car. My impression is that they care about the cars and their customers.

I wouldn't hesitate to go back there if I had to. (I hope not).

PM me if anyone has a question on this shop. I'm in now way affiliated with them, of course.
