Ok, so I'm now an expert at replacing wheels studs on the rear hub of a '93 legacy. I'm sure it's a pretty similar operation for most other subarus, equipped with ABS, as well. To get the stud out I had to completely disassemble the parking brake. I also had to remove the wheel speed sensor ring that is attached to the backside of the hub, which is for the ABS. With all of this, including the rotor and caliper, removed I was able to extricate the stud and put the new one in. Getting the stud back in was a problem and I had to devise my own method of pressing it into the hub. If anyone needs to know exactly how I did it you can email or PM me.
