Assuming you get the car to 3-wheel you still don't need to worry. The gas pressure in Konis is very low. Once the spring gets to full extension only gravity is pulling the spring further off the upper perch. 80% of the time its not going to be a problem. I bought helpers when I initially put a GC/Koni on my car. In the end I didn't bother using them. I ran the car competitively in STX for several seasons and never had the lack of helpers cause a problem.

Besides, when you consider the stack height of the helpers + the adapters is about 0.5", that's an additional 0.5" of compression stroke you're losing when you drop the lower perch down to maintain your current ride height.
