Also contacted a local PPG vendor to see if their RWD conversion spool will work on my 07 STI transmission, and if so at what price. SpeedForSale said it would take a day or so to confirm since PPG is in Australia.
These RWD spools for the 6 speed will not work for my application. They eliminate any power to the FWD portion of the transmission and send it all to the spool for it to be sent to a driveshaft and the rear differential. I just confirmed this in my phone conversation with Andrewtech Automotive in MD, an authorized PPG distributor.

So, Andrewtech said they'd look into a solution for me in the next week or so. How cool of them to consider my small, one-off project.
