Correct, they will have no way of detecting that the AP was previously installed. One thing they can
detect is how long it's been since an ECU reset, so they often attempt to "corner" people into admitting fault if they notice the vehicle has not been driven since the last ECU reset (which happens when people uninstall the AP then have the car towed to the dealer).
