Default advice? Sign up on a detailing-specific forum like and ask your question there. Many of the members there are professional detailers and will likely be able to recommend someone reputable in your area.

On a side note (if this were me and I was trying to tackle the problem myself)), I would look into a good decontamination product like Valugard ABC ( It may help remove some (or all) of the “film” you speak of. After that, I would start looking into abrasive solutions (compounding/polishing). …..starting with a test area first to observe my progress and re-assess if needed. The sad fact is that the damage may be bad enough that no level of buffing, wet sanding, etc. will remove all of the defects without severely compromising the finish.
