Hey, I'm hoping it's not cheapened out either. But judging by what VW has already done to two of their models, this is my guess.

I own a Golf, and would buy another.
It's the other way around. Lighter materials are more expensive.

The two models VW made cheaper were designed for the US market, the Golf isn't.
