The difference is that Meguiar's Wheel Brightener is an acid based wheel cleaner, and that Sonax is an acid-free deironizer. Although they both have the ability to get the wheel very clean, the Sonax will do a better job of it with respect to embedded iron particles. When cleaning exceptionally gnarly wheels, or when prepping them for a permanent coating, I always use a deironizer like Sonax.
