The OP should find the original debtor and pay what he/she owes.
The OP will just tell the collection agency to go to hell and they will call a couple more times and give up.
Collection agencies are scum, but people ideally should pay what they owe (directly to the organization or person they owe it to though).
The debtor paid enough with 7 years of ****ty credit. I think the bank can live without its $275 or whatever the OP owed them.
