From the looks of your waste-gate(s) location, servicing them looks to be no fun but doable

Yeah with the Cobb air box, the problem I had with it was the front was wide open and designed to fit around the snokus and abs unit. I deleted my snorkus way back and built a ram air from the lower right front bumper vent on my my Forester FSTI/ Sport bumper. It's a 4" ram air flex/ vent with a collector zip tied right into the grill on the bumper vent and it feeds the stock air box.

When I added the Cobb SF intake I wanted to take advantage of my ram air so I needed to fully enclose the air box to the fender so I made a filler section that fills the snorkus space and also encloses the abs unit. The other thing I am not crazy about is the noise from the Cobb SF intake so i wanted to sound insulate it with Fat Matt which I have on hand. I built the filler section scribed/ trimmed it to the fender/ engine compartment and had the complete airbox powder coated black crinkle, assembled it covered the inside with Fat Matt and it's ready to go. This should keep the intake air cold and quiet the noise of the intake. I like stealth with the XTI, it draws less attention and makes the performance of the car that much more surprising.
