I am currently the first owner of an 07 STi Limited (#423) with 42,000 on the odometer. Modifications include: Prodrive Springs, Perrin catted DP, Cobb Cat-back exhaust, Cobb AP port tuned by Tim Bailey in PDX, Cobb Cold RAM intake and box, Cobb short thow shifter, 18x8 Prodrive Pff-7's, Avic D3 in dash GPS, Polk MOMO amps in an Audio Integrations amp rack in the trunk with a 10 inch sub. Exterior mods include a RB320 front grill (with JDM exchange and powder coated to match the wheels), and Prodrive mud flaps. The origianl Enkei's have a set of Blizzaks (two light winters) on them. As a side note, I also have a RB320 Bilstein/Prodrive spring/strut/rear sway bar set as well as just about every Turn In Concept bushing, and a Spec-C front strut bar waiting to get installed when I get the time!
The opportunity has come up to buy an 05 Audi S4 Avant with 79,000 miles (virtually all hiway miles) Only known problem was a fuel pump that was replaced at 73,000 under warranty. First owner. Aftermarket cat-back exhaust (can't remember name right now). Extra set of wheels with Blizzak snow tires. Same seller is also selling an 06 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited (two door with the extended body). It has a 3 1/2 inch lift, front winch, the inline 6 and a few other "jeeping" goodies.
The wife has given the green light, if I choose to, to sell the STi and purchase both of these cars. The difference, provided I get a reasonable price for the STi, would be about 5-6 grand. Unfortunatley, I do not have the garage/yard space to simply buy the S4. I always COULD sell the STi and get the AUDI and come out ahead for modifications on the Audi....
Finally, I am a mid-30 year old professional with a 3 year old and working on number 2. My wife is also in her mid-30s and drives a Toyota Sienna.
I am about 99% sold on what I am going to do but am interested to hear what the members of OT would do in this situation.
