It is fine, look at the EPA window sticker that was on the car when it was sold, and remind us what the number in the middle of your sticker reads -- it will be the number under the following text "Combined Fuel Economy This Vehicle"

If you are on your third tank of gas you are also complaining about MPG while you are still breaking in the engine. You need to break the engine in before you can get reliable information about the overall MPG your car will yield.
